Yesterday saw the first two rounds of the Knock-Out and some poor weather - drizzle most of the day, but turning dry towards late afternoon.
Diana Wilson couldn't quite continue her winning ways, and lost by two games to one against Noha Mamdouh. Soha Moustafa continued her majestic progess, but dropped a game to her friend Noha in an emotional match, with Soha crying at the end.
Virgina Arney managed to beat local Liz Farrow, and also Manal Khodeir by a narrow of margins. She now plays Soha, who looks in the best form as defending champion.
Jenny Clarke continues her unbeaten streak without losing a game and now plays Rachel Gee, who beat Debbie Lines in three games. Debbie had an unfortunate third game, peeling Rachel's ball through hoop 3 from a good position when leading 2-1. Rachel gained the next hoop to lead 3-2, a two hoop misfortune, and Debbie couldn't manage to recover.
Maram Nabil and Pouline Salib sailed through and now meet each other. Gabrielle Higgins didn't have a chance against Pouline, losing easily in two games.
The final quarter final pits Amany Hassan, who dropped a game to Helen Reeves, against the young Australian Jamie Gumbrell who looks in good form, an intriguing battle.
