After playing for a few years she assisted in coaching croquet with her husband at a local primary school and Country Club Johannesburg. Whilst coaching the school pupils, they managed to raise enough funds for them to attend the South African National Tournament in Cape Town, during which time she played in her first National Tournament.

Her most notable win was at the Wanderers Croquet Festival in Johannesburg where she had her first opportunity to play against opponents from across South Africa and various countries in Europe.
